Raw Bastion is a residence designed to resist the extremes of a northern climate through sheer structural thickness rather than layered insulation systems. The building presents an unbroken concrete face to the elements, its raw texture engineered to shed water and pressure while aging into the landscape. Custom timber mold boards controlled the grain-stamping depth across every facade. Joint lines were sealed and the molds stripped to expose the raw aggregate beneath.
